‘Thank you for coming home / sorry that the chairs are all worn / I left them here I could have sworn… Gold / always believe in your soul’
One day we were sitting around in the brewery. It was raining outside & our drayman had been dumped. Spandau Ballet’s ‘Gold’ came onto our radio and we all watched transfixed as the clouds parted, the heavens cleared, and Janine walked back into Al’s life.
There was a crack of thunder and a keg appeared. Its label said, simply, ‘Gold 4.3%’ – A legend was born.
The water for Gold is run through a very special balancing treatment that gives us the perfect canvas to which we add British hops in four different stages The end result is a smooth caramel and citrus inflected golden ale straight from the heavens.
