What’s in a name? Bitter emerged in the nineteenth century as a distinction between hoppier, sharper beers and the sweeter, less hoppy Milds which were popular at the time. Zoom forward a couple of hundred years and the term makes a lot less sense when we’ve got people brewing Lambics & Sours – there are certainly more bitter beers out there than Bitter. But what’s in a name?
Portobello Bitter is our take on traditional Best. It’s packed full of lovely spiced fruit notes, delicate roasted richness & a robust, yet balanced bitterness.
